Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport is located in the “Golden Inner Bay” of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and in the heart of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong economic corridor. Its surrounding area has been incorporated into the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone. 

The airport is part of an expanding transport network integrating air travel with ferry, road, intercity rail and metro services. In 2025, it handled a record 66.48 million passenger trips, an increase of 8.1% year on year. International and regional passenger traffic rose 22.3% to 6.34 million, with services connecting Shenzhen to 61 international and regional destinations.

Cargo and mail throughput also reached a record 2.05 million metric tons, up 9% from 2024. International and regional cargo and mail accounted for 1.06 million tons, an increase of 10%. The airport recorded 448,000 aircraft takeoffs and landings during the year.

Covering 28.3 square kilometers, Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport currently has three runways, the Terminal 3 complex, a satellite concourse and two cargo areas. Under its 2026 master plan, the airport will eventually have three runways, three terminal areas, three cargo areas and a satellite concourse. Construction is underway on the Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 complexes, the North Cargo Area and other facilities.

The airport has received a range of national and international service-quality honors, including recognition from Skytrax, Airports Council International and CAPSE. It has also received the Guangdong Provincial Government Quality Award and the Shenzhen Mayor’s Quality Award.

The airport is continuing to strengthen its international passenger and cargo connections while developing its aviation, logistics and airport-city businesses, with the goal of becoming a world-class international aviation hub.

Getting from the airport to Longhua

· By metro

l Take Metro Line 11 from Airport Station and change to Line 5 at Qianhaiwan Station. Line 5 serves Minzhi and Shenzhen North stations in Longhua. At Shenzhen North Station, passengers can transfer to Line 4 or Line 6 for other parts of the district.

l Passengers traveling to western Longhua may also take Line 11 toward Bitou and change to Line 6 at Songgang Station.

l Plan a journey with Shenzhen Metro: 

· By overnight airport bus

The NA2 Longhua Night Bus connects the airport with Longsheng Metro Station, Shijichuncheng and Shenzhen North Station. As schedules and boarding arrangements may change, check the latest information on the airport’s official website before traveling.
